They saved our night from an awful experience at hunt's oyster bar(terrible place). My wife and I stumbled across this little gem, because we were still hungry after eating at hunts, and we love thai food. The seafood fried rice was a little pricey, but tasted amazing. They didn't skimp on the seafood, and the rice was the most perfect texture. The thom kha had lots of veggies and meat with a good flavor... My wife's Pad Thai was on par with some of the better thai restaurants we have been to. The Thai tea was amazing, perfectly blended. Overall, I came in very grumpy from a bad experience elsewhere and they made me happy! In addition to staying open an extra 30 minutes for just my wife and I, the food was great!

Second visit was for lunch today. Enjoyed sushi, green curry with vegetables. The staff makes you feel at home and the food is excellent. Sushi is my test of a good restaurant. This rates with the sushi at Firefly.

Great place. We went before the dinner rush, and it was completely empty, but the place is very clean and well-decorated, and the staff is very friendly. On top of that, probably the best Pad Thai I've ever had.

Here for dinner with the Mrs on a Friday evening. We had actually intended to give "Just a cook off the hook" a try, however there was no where to sit and just a bit too hot to eat outside anyway. We both love Thai food and this place was close and not crowded. She ordered the Volcano Fried Grouper ($19.95) and I went with the "Three Thai Brothers" special ($17.95). We also had an appetizer of fresh Summer Rolls ($7.95) The Good: The server apologized and asked us if we minded waiting a few minutes for the summer rolls. She explained that they are delicate to make and that they always make them fresh (as opposed to the fried spring rolls I guess). They didn't take all that long and were obviously very, very fresh. The rolls and the accompanying peanut sauce were both great. Our main courses arrived fairly quickly. The "3 Thai Brothers" I ordered was piled high with tender, moist pieces of pork, chicken, and beef as well as lots of perfectly cooked (stir fried?) veggies in a slightly spicy red curry sauce. The Mrs was also impressed with the Volcano Grouper. Plenty of delicious fried grouper and crispy, fresh veggies in a sweet and spicy sauce. Both came with the standard white rice on the side. Service was very fast and friendly. The Bad: It seems that they are trying to save on electricity. Had to walk down an unlighted maze to get to the men's room. No hand soap in restroom. Also, I noted about a dozen ceiling fans of which none were turned on. This may have been the reason we had to deal with a few hungry flies. I don't like flies when I'm eating, especially in a climate controlled restaurant. Overall impression I got was the place was a little on the dingy side. Not terribly so, but certainly noticeable. The Verdict: Great food. Not so great atmosphere. Prices are not too bad ($53 plus tip) considering the food quality and quantity. I'd probably go here again if we were in the neighborhood and wanted good Thai food. I'm going generous with 4 stars based on the food and service, NOT the facilities.

Wanted my spicy fix and this hit the spot! I had the Miss Thailand. Shrimp and scallops with Thai spices, a bit salty but still tasty. I asked for hot and they said the dish was spicy hot but as with many Thai restaurants, they hold back with Americans. Thankfully they had deliciously spicy condiments. My husband had the Volcano Grouper. He thought it was going to be spicy hot, since it is called 'volcano' but it was subtle. Again, add condiments ;) My mother-in-law had the shrimp curry panang. She doesn't like spicy and she loved it! It was tasty. Overall, a good experience with yummy food and excellent service. We will return.

Great Thai food. It's delicious and the service is great. We order takeout all the time, and dine in a little. It's a tad expensive, but other than that, no complaints.

For two years we have been dining here and have been 100% satisfied with service, politeness, & high quality of their presentation - & superior food quality / taste. I highly recommend Thai Basel to any and all. Even their sticky/rice & mango dessert is gourmet

Thank God this little gem took over in this location. I was so horrified when Los Rancheros moved in...glad it's gone. Thai is one of my favorite Asian cuisines. I ordered the Panang curry, which is my favorite Thai dish, and this place didn't disappoint. The sauce was both sweet and spicy with plenty of chicken, green beans and peppers. I also ordered the steamed gyoza, which also was very good. The waitstaff is very friendly and my waitress even said the Panang was her favorite too. They've got a few interesting dishes I can't wait to try such as crispy duck. They also serve sushi and some teriyaki dishes.

The Thai dishes are excellent with fresh vegetables cooked just right. The wait staff is very friendly. I like Thai food extremely hot and spicy, and they prepared it exactly as I like it. I'll definitely be back! Dean Bush Miami, FL

It was okay. Nothing too special about this place although I did like their tom yum soup bc they filled it with lots of meat. I got everything the spiciest at level 5 and it still wasn't spicy enough. But they were friendly to us

Very unprofessional employees.! We came in to ask ago see about eating here with my brother who has celiacs and is unable to eat gluten. The man told us "he didn't want that kind of problem here so don't bring him" he also wouldn't even let us take the take out menu. Very rude. He could have simply told us they were unable to accommodate but instead we were shoe'd out and unwelcomed. UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE.

Went here for lunch and really enjoyed it. Service was good and the everything tasted fresh. Several restaurants have been in this location over the years so we will see if this one makes it. We would eat here again.

My husband and I had dinner here last night for the first time. I had the red curry and my husband had the Panang curry; both were superb. We also got to try two chicken wings as the chef was trying out a new recipe. The wait staff was very friendly. We also had an appetizer recommended by the waitress. Two items on the sushi bar intrigued me that I have not had and will try in the future; octopus and white tuna. The waitress also suggested the octopus salad. Always like suggestions from the waitstaff.

While waiting for coffee and tea at Chez Amavida, I went into Thai Basil to ask a few questions regarding their menu. One of my cousins had a gluten allergy and I wanted to see if they had a gluten menu. I went in to a young lady and asked her about the gluten menu. She was nice and didn't know so she went to ask. Another gentleman who looked like the owner or manager came up to me and asked what the problem was. I told him about the gluten allergen and he insisted that we not bring him to the restaurant. He was really really rude not to my family alone but also unprofessional. Never going there again! Wouldn't suggest such a rude place to anyone! Even more so, if your family member or friends have a gluten allergy

Excellent! We had Pad Thai, Pad Woonsen, and Panang. All the dinners were some of the best Thai food we've ever had and the prices are very reasonable. The employees are very friendly and we will definitely be back.

Very good food. My party had a fun time. Although, the water was very chlorinated. Would go again.
